Yesterday, as with every Sunday, GW put out next week’s preorders. This week offers up even more great models for the expanding Necron range. We do not yet know the full impact of the new codex or model releases on the ‘meta’ or what have you but it is fantastic to see such beautiful models.

Last week I wrote about how Wizards of the Coast was probably banning Uro, Titan of Nature’s Wrath.  Well Monday that prediction came true.  What does this mean for Standard moving forward? There are a few other cards I will cover that could see the ban-hammer in the future.  WotC also announced a new Secret Lair that is a paired promotion with The Walking Dead.  I will also go into detail what this entails for the formats affected and what it means for the future.

Zendikar Rising signals an important time of year for Magic the Gathering.  A brand-new set with brand new cards introduced into the slew of MtG formats, most notably Standard.  Historic also being a newer format will also be interesting to see how things shake up.  Today I’m going to talk about the state of Standard after rotation, and my top 5 cards in Zendikar Rising for Standard.

New Codexes/Models

9/16/20 New codexes (codicies?) are always fun! We know that the first two codexes in 9th edition are going to be Space Marines and Necrons. Now these are supposed to be released in October of this year, and we do not know if that is in the same weekend or a few weeks apart. Sometimes when GW gives you a month for a release it can mean the very last weekend of the month so we may be two months away :(.At the link below, Warhammer Community outlines what is coming, including the new Gladiator tank! But the big ones are the codexes. The Necrons and Marines have a ton of new kits coming, some of which we know the details for, other none at all.We can assume the new codexes will change the game quite a bit with new secondaries specifically for their given faction.  So what do you guys think? What are you most looking forward to with the new codexes?https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/07/25/the-warhammer-40000-launch-party-preview/

9/7/20 GW put out another (pre)pre-order yesterday and here are my thoughts:GW Preorders for release on Saturday 9/19/20 Here is the link to Warhammer-Community about next weeks releases!https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/09/06/the-will-of-the-mountain/It is finally time for the Lumineth Realm Lords to release (almost all the way there). The Stone Bois are coming soon. The final release of the LRL is an event almost nine months in the making. The LRL are the newest Age of Sigmar army that show some promise on the power scale (looking at you Teclis) and I am very excited to get my army on the table. So what are you thoughts everyone? Are you excited for a new take on Elves? What is your favorite model from the new line?
